60歲幼齒班長 「向古早農業學習」

蔡金來從1998年就擔任炮子崙茶葉產銷班長，十幾年來積極參與地方事務，目前產銷班有21位成員，多數都是80幾歲的老農，最年長的已經92歲，現在改當顧問不再從事農耕，蔡金來笑稱：「我60歲，在班上算是幼齒咧！」幸虧最近有30幾歲的年輕人加入，他希望更多中生代一起推動友善農業。
炮子崙山上有200多位居民，在家排行老二的蔡金來，曾離鄉到宜蘭發展，1997年又回到故鄉，身為家中務農第五代，長年和村裡的長輩接觸，愈覺得「世大」有很多地方值得大家去學習效法。
蔡金來說，阿公阿祖年代和老一輩的人都是用自然農法，炮子崙的農耕方式和外面很不一樣，外地的農作都要施肥下農藥，他們在地的竹筍都是採人工除草，讓竹筍和雜草共生，作物一年種兩次就讓土地休息，或輪作改種別的作物。
劉克襄不禁讚嘆，他在炮子崙吃到綠竹筍滋味確實特別甜美，現場挖的新鮮竹筍和外面買的筍子很不一樣。
劉克襄認為，把炮子崙古早友善農業的方法傳播推廣出去，「向古早的農業學習」是未來農業發展之路。
